Spending the Day at Capo D’Orso Hotel, Sardinia

During my whirlwind trip to north Sardinia I was invited to spend a day experiencing what it was like to stay at the stunning 5* Capo d’Orso Thalasso Hotel & Spa. So of course, my fellow journalists and I popped off to see what the stunning beachfront hotel had to offer.  With just 84 rooms, the hotel felt luxurious, intimate and private. Capo d’Orso was scattered along a private coast line and there wasn’t another hotel or building in sight. It had a real exclusive feel to it, and had stunning views of the Archipelago Islands of Sardinia.

We were given a tour of the hotel and were treated to a slap up 5 course lunch – Sardinian style – so no half measures! The staff could NOT have been more charming or attentive (plus some of the waiters were rather dishy).  After an incredibly decadent lunch we had a free afternoon to spend a blissful few hours in the sun. As you’ll see from the photos, it didn’t take me long to find my sun station. My day at the Capo d’Orso was definitely a highlight of my trip and I’d happily reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for a small boutique style 5 star hotel in Sardinia.

But enough of all that. You want to see cold hard evidence right? Well, a picture speaks a thousand words, so here are 11,000 words to describe my day spent at Capo d’Orso..

We were treated to delicious canapes and Aperol spritzers during our show round. The canapes were amazing prawns wrapped in crispy pasta and resting in a pesto sauce - totally relish!

The main was a delicious white snapper flavoured with lemon and served with sauteed onions – probably the only dish I ate the whole trip without carbs! Hooray!

I'd absolutely love to go back to Capo d'Orso and spend a week there. It would be the perfect escape from the world!
