The Tower Suite at Hotel Brunelleschi, Florence
During my stay in Florence I was invited to have a guided tour of the hotel’s most luxurious and sought-after accommodation type, the Tower Suite at Hotel Brunelleschi. I fell in love with the suite so much that I thought it deserved it’s very own blog post. So here’s a sneak peak of the beautiful Tower Suite, quite possibly the most romantic room in Florence.
The Tower Suite at Hotel Brunelleschi is located in the Pagliazza Tower, which is the oldest building still standing in the historical centre of Florence. It dates back to the 6th and 7th century and has been perfectly preserved throughout time. From the outside it looks like Rapunzel’s tower, which makes the suite so romantic and perfect for special occasions like honeymoons, proposals and anniversaries.
The Tower Suite at Hotel Brunelleschi is a duplex-style suite spreading across two levels and as the tower is circular, so are the rooms. The entrance is at the lower level and as you walk through a corridor you arrive at the spacious circular lounge area. It’s here that you first see the original exposed brickwork of the tower along side plush furnishings and a luxurious chandelier. Opposite the lounge area is a spacious bathroom with ‘his and hers’ sinks and a deep bathtub.
Walk around the corner to find a quirky spiral staircase which leads up into the bedroom area of the suite. I absolutely loved this feature within the suite.
Once at the top of the staircase you are met by the stunning circular bed, in keeping with the circular shape of the suite. Surrounding the bed is a grey canopy that drapes from the ceiling. The canopy can wrap the whole way around the circular bed and a cushioned storage unit at the bottom of the bed further adds to the luxuriousness.
The bedroom of Tower Suite at Hotel Brunelleschi is tastefully decorated with mirrors, comfortable furnishings and is perfectly lit by another chandelier in the middle of the bedroom.
Another amazing part of the Tower Suite are the views! As the Hotel Brunelleschi is just 5 minutes away from the Catherdral di Santa Maria, spectacular views of the Duomo can be seen from the far bedroom window. Imagine waking up to blue skies, terracotta rooftops and Florence’s most iconic landmark? From the other side the Tower Suite looks onto a view of the quiet Piazza Santa Elisabetta, where the hotel’s main entrance is located.
Also located within the Pagliazza Tower is Restaurant Santa Elisabetta , the Hotel Brunelleschi’s fine dining Italian restaurant. With only 7 tables and 24 covers in the whole restaurant, it’s an incredibly intimate and effortlessly romantic dining experience. Dinner at Santa Elisabetta and a night in the Tower Suite would be the ultimate in Florence romance!
