It boasts an on-site playroom and outdoor adventure playground along with seasonal activities, while 220 acres of meadow serve as their natural playground. This autumn The Playbarn also offers activities including biscuit decorations, leaf crafts, pumpkin carving, spooky slime making and much more.

Calcot & Spa also offers an Ofsted-registered purpose-built crèche, The Playbarn for the younger ones. With plenty of toys, arts and crafts equipment, it’s a fun environment for children to play, while the adults enjoy time to themselves knowing the children are in safe hands. The Playbarn is managed by fully qualified staff and offers endless entertainment for children, with 4 hours of free childcare for all hotel residents. Older children are welcome to enjoy The Mez, supervised space full of the latest game consoles and even a 12-seater cinema showing movies each day to keep them entertained. 

For The Adults – The Spa and Beyond

Whilst the children are being entertained, parents can unwind in The Calcot Spa, which offers an array of treatments, a heated indoor pool, and a sauna. Parents can also enjoy tranquil outdoor walks through the Rewilding zones, afternoon tea in the Hive or a romantic lunch in the Brasserie with a cocktail or two.

The Spa is an adult-only space for the majority of the day to ensure relaxation and quiet for guests and spa members, however little guests are encouraged to enjoy some family splash time in the swimming pools at designated times each day. During the warm summer months, the hotel’s heated outdoor pool is open daily for all to enjoy, whatever the time or weather.

Family-Friendly Fun and Exploring The Cotswolds

Just let the spa reception team know in advance when you’d like to venture out on two wheels so they can kit you out with bikes to suit. All guests get complimentary bike hire, and children bikes with child seats, trailers and helmets are all available. 

The fun Disc Golf is also a family favourite and takes you around the Trim Trail and involves throwing discs at the various target baskets placed throughout – similar to the rules to golf, only with frisbee-like discs.
