The Best All-Inclusive Adult Only Resort in Cancun: Le Blanc Spa Hotel

10/12/15 ᛫ 6 Comments

Last month I made my first ever trip to Mexico to experience Cancun with Low Cost Holidays. I got to visit the iconic Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, party at the infamous Coco Bongos, explore local flea markets and lots more! Having heard stories of boozed up ‘Spring breakers’ and the Vegas-style club scene, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Cancun. Is it a destination for stylish travellers to unwind, escape and feel totally at peace? If Le Blanc Spa Resort’s all-inclusive, adult only haven has anything to do with it, the answer is yes. Read on and check out the video to find out why.

Location

Le Blanc Spa Resort is located just 30 minutes drive from Cancun International Airport. It was probably the closest airport transfer I’ve ever had, and after the 10-hour flight from London, I was pretty thankful for it. Le Blanc is located in downtown Cancun on the main strip of beachfront hotels. Being centrally located means that Cancun’s central nightlife, shopping malls and restaurants are all in easy walking distance.

First Impressions

Le Blanc Spa Resort is somewhat enigmatic when you drive through the security gate, towards the unassuming entrance. The first thing you notice is that everything is white, which is a sure-fire sign of things to come. Stepping out of our private transfer, we were met by a doorman dressed head to toe in white linens, who handed us a cold towel. Seconds after giving our names, our luggage was whisked off by the bellboys, ready to be taken straight to our rooms.

Checking in

This is not just any old check-in. My friend and I were shown to a private sofa in the lobby area and handed the resort’s signature welcome drink, a non-alcoholic cocktail with coconut milk. As soon as I sipped on the drink and refreshed with the cold towel, I instantly felt myself relax into the tranquil surroundings. The receptionist checked us in whilst a warm heated cushion was placed round my neck. I didn’t want to give it back!

Butler Service

Next it was time to meet our butler (yes, butler). Butler service comes as a standard at Le Blanc and is included in the price of the stay. Our butler Carlos was waiting to meet us at the lobby, and personally escorted us up to our room on the 3rd floor. He gave us a tour of the room and pointed out all the little details such as the mini bar and customised menu.

The butlers go out of their way to make your stay as relaxing and convenient as possible. Although we didn’t put in any grand requests, it was clear that nothing was too much trouble for them. From running your bath with scented bath salts of your choice to restaurant bookings and unpacking your bags, having a butler meant we didn’t have a care in the world. He even offered to unpack our luggage. What a dream!

The Room

We were given a beautifully spacious room with twin beds and a dreamy ocean view. Flopping on to the queen sized beds felt like sinking in to a fluffy cloud, and there were luxurious details in every corner. A complimentary bottle of red wine sat waiting for us on the table, and we were later surprised by our butler with champagne and macaroons! And if that wasn’t enough, the mini-bar and full sized spirit bottles are all inclusive in the price of the stay! Inside the bathroom area we found luxurious Bvlgari toiletries and jacuzzi bathtub big enough for 3.

Tailored Touches

I was amazed at how much the room could be tailored to your tastes. Within the rooms you’ll find a menu which lists a choice of pillows (lavender scented, hypoallergenic, goose down etc). You can choose any scent to put on your pillow as well as to be ventilated in the room. The butler will even run you a bath with your choice of scented bath salts. We went for a cucumber and mint scent to refresh the room, which was a gorgeous personal touch that I was reminded of every time I walked in the room.

The Beach

The beach is one of my absolute favourite things about Le Blanc. The sand is fine, powdery and golden, the sea is a vivid aqua marine and the constant waves breaking makes it incredibly photogenic. There is always a refreshing breeze which means you never feel like you’re baking on the beach, and the water is incredibly warm (and we were there in November!). Spend a lazy afternoon in one of the beach cabanas and order cocktails and light dishes straight to your sun longer. Absolute bliss.

All Inclusive

As I mentioned earlier, Le Blanc is all-inclusive. Just to get this straight, that means that absolutely ALL food and drink is included in the price of the stay. There are 5 restaurants in the hotel, which are a la carte every evening. Each restaurant has its own menu, décor, style and identity, which I absolutely loved. Guests can choose from Asian, Italian, French, European or a Pizzeria and food can be ordered to the pool area and the beach. No stay at Le Blanc is complete without sitting at the pool bar and sampling some of the bar staff’s expert frozen margaritas!

Dining Highlights

During my stay at Le Blanc I sampled the Asian, French and the pizzeria. My favourite was the Asian, which served the best tuna steak I have ever eaten in my life, along with some incredibly fresh sushi and tasty veg.

In the French restaurant I sampled the most succulent beef alongside French red wine. The dining experiences at Le Blanc are made even better by the incredibly friendly and professional service. I really can’t fault a thing!

An Outstanding Spa

Le Blanc is predominantly a spa hotel which means the spa-facilities are world class. It’s a big feature of the hotel and is one of the best spas I have ever experienced. I visited the spa twice during my stay, and was amazed at the personalised service you get, even when you’re not booked in for a treatment. Cucumbers and a cold towel are placed over your eyes in the sauna, and you’re offered a hair mask and a face mask in the steam room. Along with candle-lit relaxation areas, a jaccuzi and plunge pools, this spa is reason to stay at Le Blanc alone.

During my stay I got to experience a full body Serenity massage. I’ve been lucky to have lots of massages on my travels, but this was one of the best. The essential oils, room temperature, music and pressure was all entirely tailored to my tastes, and I left feeling detoxified and utterly relaxed. Thank you to my therapist Leticia for working her magic!

Final Verdict

It’s not often I leave somewhere with the feeling that I know I will return. I am far too in love with travel and new places to repeat the same place twice. However, I fell in love with Le Blanc and due to my short time there, I left feeling as if I had only just scratched the surface of this gorgeous hotel. I can imagine that a week here would leave you feeling completely destressed and ultimately pampered. Le Blanc Spa Resort is a gorgeous boutique hotel with a effortlessly cool vibe and incredibly luxurious details. For that reason, it easily gets The Travelista seal of approval.

Perfect for: Spa junkies, couples, honeymooners, those looking for some luxurious winter sun

Hi Jessica! Your review sounds amazing! Does the “all inclusive hotel credit” give you a message? I’m not sure what the $2500 included hotel credit means. Do you know?

Merry Christmas from my family to yours ♥️.
Before I sign off for a little Christmas social me Before I sign off for a little Christmas social media break, here’s a festive photo dump of the past week + sharing my favourite poem🕯🎄🥂

Featuring

➕ A lunch to @bettys with the girls. Making a new tradition.
➕ A family visit to @castle_howard for their spectacular #IntotheWoods Christmas experience. Phenomenal. We go every year and it just gets better and better.
➕ Carols by candlelight at our local church - magic - but so many layers because the heating was broken!
➕ Dust if you Must by Rose Milligan. The perfect tonic in the (potentially stressful) build up to Christmas.

We are hosting family this year and I’m excited! I’d love my house to look like a festive show home but it doesn’t, and that’s ok. (I have a 4 year old making mess twice as fast as I can tidy it).

Fellow hosts, don’t be so busy ‘dusting’ that you miss all the little moments of magic! I’m reminding myself of this too. Swipe to read the poem and you’ll get it. ♥️

Wishing you a perfectly imperfect Christmas 🎄

We are all feeling the pinch this year with the rising cost of living, so I set myself a challenge to find gifts for under £30. By shopping at outlets like Junction 32, which has over 80 brands offering up to 60% off the retail price, your money truly does go so much further. ♥️

What gifts I bought;

✔️ Slippers from @radleylondon RRP £40 J32 Price £20
✔️Himalayam charcoal gift set from @thebodyshop RRP £36.00 J32 Price £29.50
✔️Wax cheese wheels from independent retailer @themousehouse_lincoln £3 for £16
✔️Children’s cutlery set from @procookuk RRP £10 J32 Price £7

As usual J32 had some brilliant items on offer and a huge amount of choice, even this far into December.

Have you got any last minute Christmas shopping to do? I think I am finally done! 🛍
