The Best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris: La Croix du Vieux Pont

If you’ve ever wondered if there’s a way to enjoy affordable family holidays to Europe – even in the school holidays – you’re going to love this. Let us introduce you to La Croix du Vieux Pont, a family-friendly gem which is also the best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris.

Over the May half-term, we stayed at La Croix du Vieux Pont, a Eurocamp site in Northern France, for a four-night break as a ‘blended family’ of four. For context, we stayed as as two parents, a 9 year-old and a 6 year-old. Nestled in Berny-Rivière, this picturesque, activity-packed campsite offers the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. Plus, it’s only 1 hour and 15 minute drive away from the magic of Disneyland Paris, making it the best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris. Here’s everything you need to know and some top tips for maximising your experience at La Croix du Vieux Pont.

Stay at La Croix du Vieux Pont in the 2025 summer holidays in a 6 person lodge from £1,389 per lodge. That’s only £231.50 per person.

Discovering this place (and possibly other Eurocamps in the future) genuinely felt like we’d unlocked a fun and affordable way to enjoy family holidays in Europe, without the need to pay extortionate flight prices or sky high hotel costs. Before we left, we were already saying how much we’d love to return in the height of summer.

The Best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris: La Croix du Vieux Pont

La Croix du Vieux Pont at a Glance

Located just a 2 hours 30 minute drive from the connecting ferry port of Calais, La Croix du Vieux Pont is an incredibly family friendly Eurocamp that feels like an idyllic self-contained holiday village. The site is on the edge of Berny-Rivière. It’s a quaint and traditional French village which I definitely recommend getting out into and exploring. The Eurocamp itself is set around tranquil boating lake and surrounded by greenery. There’s a wide variety of facilities for kids and adults alike, including:

  • An indoor and outdoor swimming complex with waterslides
  • A boating lake with pedalos
  • A daily programme of kid’s entertainment and events
  • A man-made beach-fringed lagoon with soft sand – perfect for sandcastles
  • Mini golf, trampolining, soft play and archery
  • Multiple playgrounds
  • An on-site supermarket
  • A kid’s club
  • Daily shuttles to Central Paris (1 hour 45) and Disneyland Paris (1 hour 15 minutes)

In terms of food, drink and entertainment on site, you’ll also find

  • 3 bars including the Lagoon Beach Bar and the Pool Bar
  • 3 restaurants
  • 1 takeaway service
  • Shows, bingo, quizzes and discos every night

With 623 plots in total, there is a huge amount of accommodation-options all in one place modern. From fully equipped lodges with outdoor hot tubs, to lodge tents for more of a stripped-back camping-style experience. A common misconception about Eurocamp holidays is that it’s only camping but I am happy to confirm Eurocamp offer so much more than just tents!

I would say that La Croix du Vieux Pont is the ideal base for a budget-conscious family looking for an adventurous yet laid-back getaway.

Eurocamp

Why We Chose La Croix du Vieux Pont

There were a few key reasons I booked this particular Eurocamp over others:

• We could drive there: Avoiding expensive school holiday flights x 4 made a huge difference to the overall cost. We took the ferry from Dover to Calais (a 90-minute crossing), then drove the remaining 2.5 hours to the site.

• It’s incredibly family-friendly: With so many on-site activities, the kids had endless ways to stay entertained and burn off energy.

• Its the best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris: Being just over an hour away made it easy to include a magical Disney day (or two!) without paying the high prices of official Disney hotels.

First Impressions

From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. After waiting in a short queue, we were greeted by friendly Eurocamp staff, handed a site map and the keys to our cabin, and given a quick orientation. We were each given a wristband to show we were residents of the camp.

Our lodge was perfectly positioned overlooking the boating lake and pedalos – so we felt close to all the action. I loved the veranda attached to the cabin, which had a comfy corner sofa as well as a dining table and chairs. It’s a great indoor-outdoor space that really enhances the accommodation

Settling In

This was our first Eurocamp experience, but thanks to the helpful pre-arrival information, we had a good sense of what to expect. We brought over a big box of food essentials in the car to get us through the first couple of days, and there’s a small on-site supermarket for top-ups, which isn’t much pricier than local shops.

Our three-bedroom premium cabin was clean, compact and functional — a hybrid between camping and a self-catering apartment. Linens and towels were provided in neat packs (you make the beds yourself), and we quickly made ourselves at home.

Search current prices and availability for La Croix du Vieux Pont.

Top Tip: Bedlinen and towels are not included as standard, but as an optional extra. If you’re doing the trip on a budget, you’ll need to bring your own bedding and towels. For convenience, I’d recommend adding the linen packs on at the point of booking.

As a family of four in a three-bed unit, the kids each had their own room, which was a novelty they loved. They were also thrilled to find a large playground just minutes from our cabin. It quickly became their favourite post-dinner hangout spot where they made friends and played with other kids on the site.

Top Tip: Check whether your accommodation has an oven — not all units do! We learned this the hard way after buying oven pizzas we couldn’t cook. Thankfully, there’s a hob and microwave, but it’s worth confirming in advance.

Food & Dining at La Croix du Vieux Pont: The Best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris

Dining on-site is relaxed and family-friendly, with a few casual options to choose from. There’s a pizzeria, a lakeside bar serving drinks and light bites, and a brasserie offering traditional French fare. We mostly self-catered, but enjoyed dinner in the Lagoon Beach Bar one night and the fresh pizzas were excellent. I also noticed that the wine is very affordable too.

We almost weren’t there long enough to enjoy all the food and drink options on site but if you were at the camp for a week or more, you’ve got a really nice mix of options to choose from alongside self-catering.

The Water Park at La Croix du Vieux Pont: : The Best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris

If your kids love swimming as much as ours do, then the water park and swimming pools will probably be the star of the show during your holiday. It’s hard to tell from the Eurocamp how many slides there actually are here, but there is a great range of options from mini toddler slides to faster tube slides, a gentle covered waterslide and two additional longer waterslides. My 6-year old loved them all.

It’s worth noting that the outdoor pool is not heated so as we were travelling in May, it was far too cold to swim outdoors. The indoor pools are all heated though and can be enjoyed year-round.

Whilst the facilities are great, the changing rooms and shower area are a very basic and definitely in no way glamorous – so don’t expect too much in this regard. There are lockers which require a 1 euro coin to lock. You’ll find sun loungers scattered around the pool, so parents, you have the potential opportunity to relax a little here, although I can’t say I was successful myself.

The Playgrounds

We discovered 3 playgrounds across the complex of the camp during our stay and they are definitely a cut above your average playgrounds! From super high slides to ground level bounce mats, theres a lot to enjoy here and my partner’s almost 10-year old really still loved these areas. We were lucky to be staying near one of the main playgrounds near the main lake. It was so nice to have so many child-friendly facilities near by and on hand.

Day Trips to Disneyland Paris and Paris

During our stay, we planned two full days at Disneyland Paris — and while both were magical, I wouldn’t recommend doing two days back-to-back! We spaced ours out with one day at the camp in-between, and we were very grateful for it.

We drove ourselves rather than taking the shuttle, which allowed for more flexibility and worked out cheaper than booking four return seats. Parking at Disney costs €30 per day, which was less than the total shuttle price, and it meant we could stay as long as we liked (crucial if you’re staying for the fireworks!).

We didn’t get into the centre of Paris during our stay, as the focus for us was Disney. However, if we had longer at the camp we definitely would have taken a day trip into Paris via the parc’s shuttle bus service.

Top Tips for Doing Disney from La Croix du Vieux Pont: The Best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris

• Don’t do two park days in a row. The days are magical but they are long. We didn’t get back to camp until 1am after the Magic Kingdom fireworks (which start at 22.50pm in Spring / Summer), and we were exhausted. A chill day in between was essential.

• Buy multiple one day Disneyland Paris passes instead of getting the two-day pass. Bizzarely, individual day tickets worked out cheaper than the consecutive-day pass, and it gave us more flexibility.

• Book tickets in advance. I found the best Disneyland ticket prices through Get Your Guide, which is a trusted official ticket partner of Disney.

• Leave early. To get the most out of your Disney day, aim to leave the campsite by 7:30–8am.

• Drive or Shuttle. You can choose to drive or take the Eurocamp shuttle to Disneyland, but if there is more than a couple of you travelling, it definitely works out cheaper to drive as all-day parking at Disney is 30 euros.

  • Expect a late night. In summer, the fireworks don’t get started til 10.40pm, so you’ll have to make a judgement call on whether your kids could stay up until then to enjoy them or whether it’s worth making an early exit and beating the queues. I have to say the fireworks were phenomenal and a highlight of the day, so if you think you can manage, definitely try to stay for them.

Highlights and Favourites at La Croix du Vieux Pont

Despite only having three full days, we packed in plenty of fun. The kids absolutely loved the freedom of the site and the variety of activities, and we made special memories to last a lifetime at Disneyland Paris. If anything, we only wished we’d had more time to properly unwind and enjoy the camp between park days. Here are my two favourite areas at La Croix du Vieux Pont, which should not be missed.

The Kiosk Cafe & Leisure Area

Luckily our lodge was located just across the road from The Kiosk, which ended up being where we spent a lot of our time during our stay. The Kiosk is the name of the central cafe bar here which serves up beers, coffees, cocktails, light snacks and a great choice of gelatos. Surrounding it is an array of fun activities for kids including pedalos, bumper boats, bouncy castles, soft play, go karts and trampolining.

This area has a lovely ‘holiday vibe’ and feels very relaxed for both kids and parents. It’s the soft of place where parents an enjoy a bit of down time or couple time whilst their children are happily and safely entertained close by. I love it when places like this design an area for kids, but with parents in mind. It just works so well!

Top Tip: Save money with an activity card Most of these activities come at an extra cost, but if you purchase an activity card at The Kiosk, you can get 70 euros of activities for the price of 40 euros – giving you lots of bonus value for the same price. It also means you can avoid using cash, as the card gets stamped in exchange for activity tokens.

The Lagoon Beach and Beach Bar

I also particularly loved the Lagoon Beach Bar, which is the bar overlooking the man-made beach area. Similarly to The Kiosk, it’s a place where parents can watch their children play safely, whilst giving them some fun and independence to explore on their own. The food here is great and in the evening an animation team run quizzes and games on the decking. It’s a great social hub with a nice atmosphere, especially when the sun is out.

Main Observations and Unexpected Things

One of the main observations, which i wasn’t expecting, about this Eurocamp, is that almost everyone (excluding the staff) are English! You only need to look at all the UK number plates outside each lodge to realise this is a very popular place for Brits, and I suppose for good reason, as it’s so easy to access from Dover and the South of England. In a way this worked really nicely for our kids because they quickly made friends, which was lovely to see. We also got chatting to other parents so it felt like a really sociable experience all-round.

One thing I wasn’t expecting, or maybe just hadn’t considered, was that there was no Wi-Fi in our lodge. It didn’t matter too much for me as I have free European data roaming, but if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have minded. I think it’s a nice way try and disconnect from daily life, spend more time offline during your holiday.

Essentials to Pack for Your Eurocamp Stay

Here are a few things we were glad we packed (or wish we had)

  • Your favourite tea or coffee
  • Dishwasher tablets & washing-up liquid
  • Handwash or soap
  • Sponge and clothes for cleaning
  • Toilet roll (you’ll need more than what’s provided)
  • Travel adapters
  • Bed linen and towels (unless you purchase this as an add on at booking)
  • Snacks and dry food essentials
  • Beach Towels
  • Any special foods for fussy eaters
  • Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel
  • A travel kettle (we didn’t have a kettle in our lodge so I had to boil water on the gas stove for teas and coffees)

Final Verdict

Despite only having three full days, we packed in plenty of fun. The kids absolutely loved the freedom of the site and the variety of activities, and we made memories to last a lifetime at Disneyland Paris. If anything, we only wished we’d had more time to properly unwind and enjoy the camp between park days. I would say that 7-10 days would be ideal amount of time to visit if you were choosing to spend a day or two at Disney. You may also want to plan in a day trip to Paris via the Eurocamp shuttle, which is around a 1 hour 45 minute drive away.

La Croix du Vieux Pont isn’t just the best Eurocamp for Disneyland Paris — it’s a fantastic destination in its own right. Whether you’re lounging by the lake, jumping into the pool, or simply enjoying family meals on the veranda, there’s a lot of joy to be found in the everyday moments here.

If you’re looking for a low-stress, high-reward family holiday that won’t break the bank — especially during the school holidays — Eurocamp’s La Croix du Vieux Pont is an absolute gem. With flexible accommodation, brilliant on-site facilities, and proximity to both Disneyland Paris and the French capital, this trip felt like a total win on all fronts.
