Blog Roll

Here are some of my favourite blogs out there in the blogosphere, all written by some fabulous fellow Travelistas. Each blog has it’s own unique angle and they all inspire me and entertain me in different ways. I love reading them just as much as I love writing my own – well – almost. I read them all on a regular basis and if you like The Travelista, you might like these too!

Favourite Travel Bloggers

Mrs O Around The World

First and foremost comes Mrs O! Her blog is my all time favourite luxury travel blog and was one of the biggest inspirations that lead me to set up The Travelista. One thing I love about Mrs O’s blog is that as well as blogging about her luxurious trips to places like Mexico and the Maldives, she also blogs about her outings in the UK. Born in Lisbon and now residing with her English hubby in the country, Mrs O is the definition of a successful cosmopolitan Travelista!

Mrs Ayla Adventures

Having grown up in a family of holiday-goers and travel-fanatics, the desire to explore has been ingrained in Ayla since birth. When she’s not researching, talking, dreaming or bugging her husband about distant shores, you’ll either find her with my head in a book or at the cinema. I had the pleasure of meeting Ayla at the lowcostholidays Blogger Awards, where she won ‘Best Female’.

The Well Travelled Post Card

Virginia Stuart-Taylor is a travel blogger based in London, who writes about her adventures abroad and top tips for living abroad on her blog The Well-Travelled Postcard. Incredibly, Virginia can speak Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and has so far lived in Chile, Spain and Italy. Since creating her blog in summer 2012 it’s given her the opportunity to travel to four different continents. I met Virginia at BlogStock 2014 and loved hearing all about her colourful travels and time abroad.

Taylor Hearts Travel

Shortlisted for “Best Female” in the lowcostholidays Blogger Awards 2014, and featured in Company Magazine’s High-Street Edit as a favourite blogger, Taylor Hearts Travel is a stylish travel blog to inspire amazing travel; from ideas for epic bucket list ticks to suggestions for local weekend trips. Char was the first fellow blogger friend I met last year at World Travel Market.

40 Before 30 / Girl Tweets World

I first discovered Jayne’s amazing talent for blogging when we were both shortlisted in the 2013 Cosmo Blog Awards. Jayne was the well deserved winner of our ‘Best Travel Category’ and was hugely inspiring to meet. Jayne has recently relaunched as Girl Tweets World in August 2013 after completing her challenge of visiting 40 countries before she was 30 (the concept behind her first blog). Girl Tweets World brings together her travel experience with that of her profession as a freelance blogger and social media manager.

Around The World in 80 Pairs of Shoes

The lovely Kelly is a Kiwi that has moved to London in search of finding the perfect Afternoon tea! (Well OK, she moved for plenty of other worth while reasons too) but travel and afternoon tea are her two big passions. She spends her weekends exploring the capital in search of the perfect afternoon tea or is jetting off on long weekends to explore Europe. She is also gluten free which puts an interesting spin on her foodie and travel pursuits!

The Travel Hack

The Travel Hack is a stylish adventure blog which is all about the amazing travels of Monica Stott. Monica used to juggle her blog alongside a full time job in digital content but in the past year she has taken the leap into freelance travel blogger, which is a huge inspiration for many fellow travel bloggers. I love her blog as she posts a great combination of travel pieces and lifestyle pieces giving an insight into her life as a travel blogger. She writes honest and witty posts that keep me coming back for more.

Favourite Lifestyle, Foodie & Fashion Bloggers

Rosie Londoner

For most blog lovers, Rosie needs little introduction. She runs the most successful lifestyle blog in the UK, and is headed for world domination! What makes her blog so special is the way she bottles up that magic London lifestyle that most people can only dream of having,  animated by the most fabulous photography. I love her writing style, wit and amazing tips – not to mention she’s bloomin’ gorgeous. She blogs about everything from luxurious travel jaunts to Anti diets, from ‘slutty brownies’ to the best parties in the capital and has her readers (including me) hanging from her every word.

Em Talks

I first discovered Em Sheldon’s blog through Instagram. Em’s little corner of the internet is a deliciously gorgeous lifestyle blog that covers everything from Fake Tan to Fitness and Fashion to Travel. It’s a snapshot into Em’s world and makes for addictive reading!. Em is a fellow Yorkshire lass who I would love to meet one day.

Hannah Leigh

Hannah Leigh is an amazing You Tube Vlogger that I met at the Cosmo Blog Awards 2013. Her Vlogs are totally fascinating, funny and endearing and cover all things fashion and beauty. Hannah is so natural in front of the camera and has a really striking look, so it’s no wonder her videos rack up thousands of views in just a few days. Hannah is also a Yorkshire lass from Sheffield and is shortlisted to win Best Vlogger in the 2014 Cosmo Blog Awards. Vote for her!

Nics Nutrition

Nic’s incredible Nutrition blog is my first port of call for foodie and fitness inspiration. She blogs, she vlogs, and works as a nutritionist too. Along with creating endless nutritious recipes for her followers , Nic provides positive  inspiration on how to maintain a healthy and wholesome lifestyle.

The Part Time Vegan

Sophie recently created The Part Time Vegan food blog as she discovered the positive impact that vegan and gluten-free cooking had on her body and her health. Sophie blogs about her incredibly creative creations, many of which are totally gluten (and guilt!) free. I always look to her blog for inspiration on deliciously healthy dishes and t0-die-for #foodporn photography!

I had too many words about 2022 for a caption, so I’ve put them all into a blog post.

My “2022 year in review” is live on The Travelista. It’s a longer, personal blog post about lessons, learnings, achievements and travels from year just gone, as well as my hopes and goals for 2023. I’ve put a link on stories for anyone interested. 😊

Wishing you a healthy, happy, adventure-filled New Year ✨

17 destinations across 9 countries. My son stepped foot in 3 new countries and I got to bring him on 6 trips with me, including his first cruise. Wow ♥️

I’m finding a new rhythm for travelling with (and sometimes without) a little one and can’t wait for what’s to come in 2023.

Whether you’re new here or you’ve followed my journey for years, thank you so much for being here, for every like, comment and share. It is this amazing, supportive and loyal community that has enabled me to quit my job this year and return to doing this full time again post Covid.

What was the most memorable place you’ve visited in 2022? ♥️

Merry Christmas from my family to yours ♥️.
Before I sign off for a little Christmas social me Before I sign off for a little Christmas social media break, here’s a festive photo dump of the past week + sharing my favourite poem🕯🎄🥂

Featuring

➕ A lunch to @bettys with the girls. Making a new tradition.
➕ A family visit to @castle_howard for their spectacular #IntotheWoods Christmas experience. Phenomenal. We go every year and it just gets better and better.
➕ Carols by candlelight at our local church - magic - but so many layers because the heating was broken!
➕ Dust if you Must by Rose Milligan. The perfect tonic in the (potentially stressful) build up to Christmas.

We are hosting family this year and I’m excited! I’d love my house to look like a festive show home but it doesn’t, and that’s ok. (I have a 4 year old making mess twice as fast as I can tidy it).

Fellow hosts, don’t be so busy ‘dusting’ that you miss all the little moments of magic! I’m reminding myself of this too. Swipe to read the poem and you’ll get it. ♥️

Wishing you a perfectly imperfect Christmas 🎄

ad Come with me and my Mum to do some last minute ad Come with me and my Mum to do some last minute Christmas shopping at @junction32. 🎁

We are all feeling the pinch this year with the rising cost of living, so I set myself a challenge to find gifts for under £30. By shopping at outlets like Junction 32, which has over 80 brands offering up to 60% off the retail price, your money truly does go so much further. ♥️

What gifts I bought;

✔️ Slippers from @radleylondon RRP £40 J32 Price £20
✔️Himalayam charcoal gift set from @thebodyshop RRP £36.00 J32 Price £29.50
✔️Wax cheese wheels from independent retailer @themousehouse_lincoln £3 for £16
✔️Children’s cutlery set from @procookuk RRP £10 J32 Price £7

As usual J32 had some brilliant items on offer and a huge amount of choice, even this far into December.

Have you got any last minute Christmas shopping to do? I think I am finally done! 🛍
