If you’re looking to book a unique summer holiday this year that will satisfy your sense of wanderlust, you’ve landed on the right page. By now, most Brits are well and truly ready for a holiday, but with the ever-changing travel restrictions, it feels impossible to book anything with confidence unless it’s a UK staycation. That’s why Princess Cruises are launching their 2021 summer Seacations. Setting sail from 31st July, the Seacations are an amazing collection of 2021 UK cruises, appealing to those who want to experience a cruise whilst exploring spectacular destinations across the UK.

My own experience with Princess Cruises
Before sharing more about the summer Seacations, I want to tell you a bit about my own experience of cruising with Princess Cruises.
I was lucky enough to go on a 11 day Scandinavian cruise on board Regal Princess back in 2018. It was my first experience of going on a cruise and it was one of the most epic trips I have ever been on. From watching the Russian Ballet perform in St Petersburg to riding through the streets of Stockholm by bicycle, each destination brought new adventure and experience. We visited 6 countries in 10 days, all whilst travelling on board Regal Princess in complete luxury.

Whilst on board the ship, I woke up every day to a new ocean vista and got to have breakfast out on the stateroom balcony. We spent the 11 days dining on fresh, gourmet food across the ship’s many restaurants and experiencing aspects such as The Lotus Spa and The Retreat. I can honestly say that cruising is the most stress-free and enjoyable ways to see multiple destinations in a short space of time. I believe everyone should try it at least once!

2021 Seacations with Princess Cruises
The benefit of a Seacation UK cruise is that they only stop at UK ports, meaning your holiday will not be disrupted by overseas travel restrictions. You can choose from 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 night summer cruises, which all start and end in Southampton, UK. Shore excursions take place at every port, so you’ll have the opportunity to explore the heart of each place you visit.
As part of the 2021 Seacation programme, there is also a selection of scenic cruises that cruise the British isles without any port stops.
Regal Princess and Sky Princess are the two ships that will be sailing around the UK this summer, stopping in ports such as Portland, Liverpool, Belfast and Glasgow. From following the footsteps of the Beatles in Liverpool to immersing yourself in the Titanic Museum in Belfast, each port offers unique and diverse experiences linked to UK heritage.
Whilst on board Regal Princess or Sky Princess for a UK cruise, Seacation passengers can enjoy more than 3 different restaurants, an entertainment programme, the Lotus Spa and the award-winning OceanMedallion technology.
Please note: Seacation Cruises are only available to people who have had both doses of their Covid vaccinations at least 7 days prior to travel. All required Covid tests are included in the price of the cruise.
What is OceanMedallion on board a Princess Cruise?
The new OceanMedallion technology replaces the traditional cruise card and has been created to enhance guest experience. Each passenger is given a OceanMedallion which creates touch free options for things such as;
- Embarkation and disembarkation of the ship
- Keyless stateroom entry
- Contactless purchases on board
- On demand food, beverages and retail items delivered to anywhere on board
- Guest service requests via mobile device chat
Princess MedallionClass ships also offer the best Wi-Fi at sea, MedallionNet, so guests can stay connected to the things and people they love. I used MedallionNet every day during my Scandinavian cruise in 2018 and was so impressed by the speed and constant connectivity of the Wi-Fi. I was also able to use the Wi-Fi to make free internet calls which was a huge bonus.
Fun fact: Each OceanMedallion is the size of a 10p!
As someone who has previously cruised with Princess Cruises, I am so excited to share the news about their UK Seacations and would love to experience one for myself.
