My Luxury Travel Christmas Wish List

28/10/13 ᛫ 12 Comments

With the Christmas word just around the corner, an abundance of lovely festive brochures and gift guides have magically appeared on my doormat in recent weeks. I make no secret of being a travel-addict, so many of the things that have caught my eye have been travel related. Although I wish I was made of money, I’m not. But hey, we can all dream can’t we? So I’ve put together my dream wish list of luxury travel items fit for the most glamorous of Travelistas. Here we go!…

Aspinal of London – Classic UK Travel Collection

I absolutely LOVE this collection of travel accessories from Luxury British retailer Aspinal of London. My passport is due for expiry soon so is starting to look a little shabby so the passport holder would be just the trick. Whilst Apple Passbooks are all the rage these days, I still like to print off all my documents when I travel, so I love the idea of using the organiser. It comes in a range of colours but I’d go with turquoise – the colour of The Travelista of course! This is the ultimate in luxury airport chic! Who’s with me? Retails at £150

The Mighty Purse by Ana Slavka

When a press release landed in my inbox about the Mighty Purse, the inner geek in me jumped for joy. This new luxury leather clutch bag comes with a discreet built in charger for your mobile, Micro USB cord and 2 adapters (bloggers – rejoice!) It’s compatible with a variety of smart devices including Samsung Galaxy, BlackBerry ®, Apple® phones, tablets and MP3 players. The Mighty Purse was created by former international model and makeup artist Ana Slavka. Oh and Santa, if you’re reading this, I’ll have one in Lizard Grey! Retails at £79.95

 Molton Brown Women’s Jetsetter Stowaway

I got my first ever Saturday girl job at Molton Brown at the tender age of 16, so I have had an affinity with the luxury cosmetic brand ever since. I’m always hoping for a little MB under the tree at Christmas, and this year I have my eyes on this amazing travel kit. It’s perfect for bringing a little luxury with you and with everything under 100ml, it’s the ideal option for when you’re taking hand luggage on short haul flights. The Pink Pepperpod shower gel smells divine (take my word for it) and once you’ve devoured your toiletries you’re left with a pretty peach washbag. Jobs a good’en! Retails at £46.00

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Tote Bag

OK now I’m really bringing out the big guns here, but this bag truly is my obsession so definitely deserves a mention on my Christmas wish list . Ladies, is it just me or do you always end up with tonnes of stuff in your bag when you’re travelling through the airport? I’ve got about 3 magazines, an iPad, a notebook, the obligatory pack of Maoams from WHSmith…This oversized tote bag from Louis V would be perfect for travelling to and from the airport, poolside, or any occasion for that matter! I always end up with masses of stuff in my bag when I travel so this spacious bag of gorgeousness would be perfect. Plus – more room for Maoams! Retails at £615

Clubmaster Ray Bans RB3106

Last but by no means least are these snazzy Ray Bans in the Clubmaster style. Whilst Winter is evidently not the time of year to be swipping out your sunnies, I like to plan ahead! I got a pair of Wayfarer Ray Bans a couple of years ago and they have served me so well. They don’t come cheap, but I think good quality sunglasses are essential – and not just for posing in! Their UVA and UVB filters are really important for protecting against optical sun damage. I love the retro thick top rim of the Clubmaster style and I am definitely hoping to be rocking a pair of these come Summer 2014! Retails at around £90

I would like all of these things! And I am now very tempted to do a similar blog post myself, although I don’t know whether that’ll just make it even harder, knowing that I can’t have them!

Hi Virginia! Thanks for your comment. I think you should definitely do a post like this! I’d love to see it. It’s quite fun to make a ‘money no object’ Xmas list – although slightly depressing at the same time… I WILL get my Louis V bag one day 🙂

I just bought the Aspinal Collection today! They have an extra 20% until Monday so you should buy it sooner rather than later 😉

I had too many words about 2022 for a caption, so I’ve put them all into a blog post.

My “2022 year in review” is live on The Travelista. It’s a longer, personal blog post about lessons, learnings, achievements and travels from year just gone, as well as my hopes and goals for 2023. I’ve put a link on stories for anyone interested. 😊

Wishing you a healthy, happy, adventure-filled New Year ✨

I’m finding a new rhythm for travelling with (and sometimes without) a little one and can’t wait for what’s to come in 2023.

Whether you’re new here or you’ve followed my journey for years, thank you so much for being here, for every like, comment and share. It is this amazing, supportive and loyal community that has enabled me to quit my job this year and return to doing this full time again post Covid.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours ♥️.
Before I sign off for a little Christmas social me Before I sign off for a little Christmas social media break, here’s a festive photo dump of the past week + sharing my favourite poem🕯🎄🥂

Featuring

➕ A lunch to @bettys with the girls. Making a new tradition.
➕ A family visit to @castle_howard for their spectacular #IntotheWoods Christmas experience. Phenomenal. We go every year and it just gets better and better.
➕ Carols by candlelight at our local church - magic - but so many layers because the heating was broken!
➕ Dust if you Must by Rose Milligan. The perfect tonic in the (potentially stressful) build up to Christmas.

We are hosting family this year and I’m excited! I’d love my house to look like a festive show home but it doesn’t, and that’s ok. (I have a 4 year old making mess twice as fast as I can tidy it).

Fellow hosts, don’t be so busy ‘dusting’ that you miss all the little moments of magic! I’m reminding myself of this too. Swipe to read the poem and you’ll get it. ♥️

Wishing you a perfectly imperfect Christmas 🎄

ad Come with me and my Mum to do some last minute ad Come with me and my Mum to do some last minute Christmas shopping at @junction32. 🎁

We are all feeling the pinch this year with the rising cost of living, so I set myself a challenge to find gifts for under £30. By shopping at outlets like Junction 32, which has over 80 brands offering up to 60% off the retail price, your money truly does go so much further. ♥️

What gifts I bought;

✔️ Slippers from @radleylondon RRP £40 J32 Price £20
✔️Himalayam charcoal gift set from @thebodyshop RRP £36.00 J32 Price £29.50
✔️Wax cheese wheels from independent retailer @themousehouse_lincoln £3 for £16
✔️Children’s cutlery set from @procookuk RRP £10 J32 Price £7

As usual J32 had some brilliant items on offer and a huge amount of choice, even this far into December.

Have you got any last minute Christmas shopping to do? I think I am finally done! 🛍
